Explore Chiropractic offers a variety of health centered services. We pride ourselves on serving you through adjustments, coaching, and helping you create overall wellness in your life.
Many clients have asked, "what are the benefits of chiropractic care? What happens on my first visit and after that?"
At Explore Chiropractic we take time to get to know you and your health needs. On your first visit you will have a consultation and evaluation performed to help you see how well your body is functioning day to day. You may also be having x-rays on your first visit to help Dr. Headlee determine the best recommendations for you. You will then be scheduled for a second visit called your "Health Report of Findings" where Dr. Headlee will review your findings and recommendations to help guide you on your health path. The two of you will review time frames, financial concerns and set goals on your planned course of action.
People today are interested in taking charge of their health care needs. Of all individuals, 88% will have at least one incident of back
injury or pain within their lifetime. Our health screenings are public service events, which are professional, informative, and a benefit
to any participant. The system used to evaluate posture and balance is called S.A.M. This equipment shows the following findings: Body
Shift (body compensation for postural deficiencies), Head Tilt, Shoulder Levels, Pelvis Levels, and Weight Imbalance (left vs. right).
Benefits of Balanced Posture:
"Better than 90 percent of the energy output of the brain is used in relating the physical body in its gravitational field. The more mechanically distorted a person is, the less energy available for thinking, metabolism, and healing."

What is Cranial Release Technique?
Cranial Release Technique (CRT) is a natural, hands-on approach to releasing the body’s inborn capacity to heal and regenerate itself. CRT can be applied in only minutes, yet it has profound effects on overall health and well-being.
Cranial Release Technique works to restore proper function to the nervous system and proper balance to body structure. Thus, it has positive effects on conditions ranging from aches and pains to overall health and wellness.
CRT makes a wonderful addition to anyone’s health care regimen.
What is Cranial-Based Healthcare?
About 100 years ago an American physician, Dr. William G. Sutherland, discovered that the 22 bones of the head move. Dr. Sutherland’s subsequent research revealed that:
Modern day researchers using sophisticated and very sensitive instruments have now proven that this movement of the bones of the head indeed does exist. Other studies have shown that the position of the bones can be changed using hands-on techniques.
Since its inception in the 1900’s many different schools of cranial techniques have been developed. These methods all had several things in common:
How is Cranial Release Technique different?
Cranial Release Technique arose out of a new school of thought. CRT considers the cranium, and all of the many tissues affected by the cranium and nervous system, in our corrective approach. The CRT approach differs in that:
Can CRT Help me?
Many people, with a wide variety of health problems, have been helped using Cranial Release Technique. As the body is returned to optimum function it becomes possible for true healing and repair to begin. Often times, even chronic problems have responded well to the CRT approach after more conventional methods have failed.
Cranial Release Technique practitioners consider themselves to be facilitators of “Releasing” the body’s own inborn capacity to heal and be well. Once this goal has been achieved you are in the best position possible for relief & healing to occur.
Please consult your local CRT practitioner for more detailed information regarding your particular health concerns.
What About Wellness Care?
Perhaps one of the greatest aspects of the Cranial Release program is its ability to restore and enhance wellness. We live in stressful times. Many articles have appeared in major publications over the past years detailing the negative effects of the stress of modern day life and today’s fast paced lifestyles.
This chronic stress presents a host of challenges to the normal function of the body. The nervous system goes into overdrive and harmful chemicals produced in response to the stress are produced by the body. Over time this “stress state” can be very damaging, not only to physical, but to mental health as well.
Initial investigation into Cranial Release Technique and its effect on Heart Rate Variability (medically recognized as an indicator of stress) have indicated that CRT has a positive effect on reversing this abnormal “stress state”. This investigation reflects the positive effects often reported by CRT patients/clients. Many people report feeling much more “relaxed and at ease” following a CRT session. A sense of “balance and more peace” is noticed as they go through the day. At any given point in time, your body is either in a mode of protection and survival or a mode of healing and regeneration. CRT can help to facilitate a return to healing, repair and regeneration making it an ideal part of your overall wellness program.
How Healthy Is Your Brain?
When it comes to your health, you measure everything that is important to you. But do you neglect the command center of your body... your brain?
Your brain communicates through your spinal cord and the vast network of your nervous system to control every function your body performs. From musculoskeletal health to immune system regulation, your body depends on its command center working efficiently. When your brain works right, your body works right.
Optimal health care focuses on the brain-body connection and on improving nervous system health, so the brain and body can communicate efficiently.
The NeuroHealth Assessment quantifies two types of brain health:

Decompression therapy is a non-surgical procedure that effectively treats disabling low back, neck, radiating leg, and arm pain, and headaches.
Decompression therapy effectively relieves the pain associated with disc herniation, degenerative discs, posterior facet, and other spinal related syndromes, by reducing the pressure on spinal discs and facet joints through unloading created by distraction and positioning.
Decompression therapy effectively enhances the healing process and often renders quick, effective and amazing pain relief that enables most patients to return to a more active lifestyle.
This is a hand-held, spring-loaded instrument based adjustment protocol. Instead of the adjustment forces being delivered by hand, force is generated with the small appliance that delivers a lighter, but quicker thrust than can be delivered by hand. Activator can be used as a primary treatment protocol for all patients or a selective method for patients who may not desire manual adjustment or where manual adjustment may be contraindicated. B.E.S.T. is a non-forceful, energy balancing hands on procedure used to help reestablish the full healing potential of the body. Understanding the body makes no mistakes regarding health and longevity, B.E.S.T. principles acknowledge the concept of interference we create with our conscious mind. This interference caused imbalance in the autonomic nervous system leading to exhaustion of our organ systems over time. Learn more at www.morter.com.

The classic chiropractic technique, developed by D.D. Palmer, DC. Uses specific manual thrusts focused on restoring normal biomechanical function. Has been developed to adjust extremity joints as well.
This is a specific chiropractic technique that uses supine and prone pelvic adjusting on a drop table, and prone or sitting instrument adjusting in the cervical region. X-ray analysis is regularly used for making clinical decisions about which spinal level(s) to adjust.
This is a specific chiropractic method and is a variation of the Diversified technique that uses a special table with several segments called drop pieces. These segments can be cocked up a fraction of an inch, so when the thrust is delivered, the table will drop this fraction of an inch. The object of the drop is to distract (open) the joint during the adjustment. The drop pieces assist the thrust, while minimizing the force required for the adjustment. A quick thrust and release to the upper cervical vertebra, the recoil is to allow the vertebra to oscillate into its proper position. Learn more at www.upcspine.com.
Torque Release Technique is non-mechanistic and non-linear. Torque Release Technique utilizes neurologically-based analysis that incorporates non-linear time sequence adjusting priories. Learn more at www.torquerelease.com.
